Our Pasta Packaging Just Changed.
There's a small problem with most paper pasta bags.
The window.
It may not look like much, but that little piece of plastic means the whole bag can't simply go where the paper goes. You have to separate it first. And realistically, how many of us do?
So when we started working on new packaging for our pasta, we wanted to see if we could do without it.
Not the window. The plastic.
The result is our new pasta bag. It's made from paper and is compostable, including the transparent window. No separating different materials. No little piece of plastic left behind.
It took a lot more work than simply redesigning a bag. But that's often the thing about making better choices: the details that seem smallest can be the hardest ones to solve.
We've been making organic food since 1994, long before most people were talking about organic. For us, that has always meant thinking about more than what goes into the food. How we make it, where ingredients come from, and increasingly, what happens to the things they come in.
The pasta inside hasn't changed.
Same organic durum wheat. Same pasta made in Italy. Just a bag we feel a little better about.
