Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the tomato sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken and coat well with the marinade.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for more flavour).
- Preheat the BBQ to medium heat.
- Grill the chicken for about 10–12 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
- Serve hot.
Biotalia Tip:
- Serving idea. Serve with an orzo salad, grilled vegetables, a drizzle of Bioitalia olive oil, and a squeeze of fresh lemon.
- Save time. Make the marinade the night before — the longer it rests, the better the flavour.
- No BBQ? Bake in the oven at 400°F (200 °C) for 25–30 minutes or cook in a skillet over medium heat.
- Veggie twist. Try the marinade with tofu or grilled veggies like eggplant or cauliflower.
- Spicy version. Add chili flakes or a touch of harissa for extra heat.

- 2 cups (500 ml) chicken thighs or drumsticks, boneless if desired
- ½ cup (125 ml) Bioitalia tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) Bioitalia olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Bioitalia balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey or maple syrup
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- A few sprigs of fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
